Show 137 was recorded in Nashville, Tennesee. Scott Merrick, friend of the GBS, picked Beloved Vicki and I up at the hotel and took us to “The Flying Saucer” for warm-up beers. I thoroughly warmed up. We then proceeded to Yazoo Brewery and joined the brewery’s owner, Linus Hall and our musical guest, Ross Falzone. We recorded a show featuring many of Yazoo’s offerings. We had the 2004 GABF winning Hefeweisen, “Amarillo Pale Ale“, “Dos Perros“, and “Onward Stout

Our musical guest was Ross Falzone. I have featured a few cuts off his old album on the last couple shows. The Good Beer Show is very proud to kick off Ross’s new album the same day it was released to the world. Here is the email I received today.

Dear Friends,
I want to announce the release of my new music project.

It’s called “Life Here on Earth” and I am very excited to have you all hear it. Once again I was very fortunate to have some very talented musical friends pitch in and help bring these songs to life. Including an appearance by the great Eddie Freedom, who after being black balled by the religious right and the Bush administration is now unfortunately homeless.

As most of you know my last project “Radical Heart” was a benefit for the “Oasis Center of Nashville” and thanks to your generosity and support, the project was and continues to be a success.

This time around the revenue from “Life Here on Earth” will benefit non profit “LPFM Community Radio”. If you would like to find out more about the LPFM Community, check out info and links on my web site.

I appreciate the support and I hope you like my new music.

“Life Here on Earth” is Available at www.cdbaby.com and write in Ross Falzone on the search or write me a note at www.rossfalzone.com and I’ll send you a copy. Any donation to “Give Music” would be appreciated. But if you’re broke I’ll send you one for the cost of postage.

Wishing you blessings and peace in your life

Ross Falzone

Feel free to forward this to anyone who may be interested

Many thanks to Scott, Linus and Ross. Enjoy the show.

It has been a while since I have released a show. It is not because we have not recorded them. It is because I have been lazy.

Not the Pedophile!

Scott Merrick from Nashville returns. The promo that you heard was from “Night Passage Podcast“. The first band is a ska band from Nashville called “Darla Farmer“. They derived the name from a bank teller at a local bank. The first and second beers respectively were “Amarillo Pale Ale” and “Stout” from Yazoo brewing in Nashville TN.

Trying to tie into the Alaska theme, the second song played is “Procrastination Way” by a band called “The Polar Bear Project” from St. Louis MO.

Traci reads a letter from an Alaskian fisherman who listens to the GBS named Sean Rhodes. His great blog is here. Tom talks to Scott about his book called “Lives”. The next song is dedicated to Sean and it is Scott Merrick playing in the “The Last Frontier Band”. The song is called “The Alaska Song”. Scott’s book and “The Last Frontier Band” stuff can be had at Scott’s site.

The last beer is from Sri Lanka and it called “Lion Stout”. This beer bears Micheal Jackson’s likeness. Micheal’s writeup on this beer is here.

I need some votes this month at podcastalley!

Yazoooo!!!!!

The very first listener has attended the “Good Beer Show”!

I had the fine pleasure of the author and musical artist, Scott Merrick, to join me on the show. He is from Nashville and he brought 2 fine growlers from Yazoo Brewery. He was the very first listener to take me up on the offer to be on my show. We had a fine time. Listen to the aftershow.

I really really enjoyed the “Amarillo Pale Ale”. It was so crisp, even out of a well-traveled growler. I would like to thank the fine people at “Yazoo Brewery” for sending the beer with Scott. It was a great show! The chemical, isoamyl acetate is responsible for the “banana smell” in hefeweisen. I knew it had a name.

Scott’s book and CD can be had here. If you are an itunes user, Scott’s music can be previewed and purchased by clicking this link.

I went to vote for my friend Jason at podcastawards.com. To my suprise, my show was on there under the “Food and Drink” category. If you like my show, please vote there. You can vote every day but please just one vote per person. Thank you.
