Scott Merrick from Nashville returns. The promo that you heard was from “Night Passage Podcast“. The first band is a ska band from Nashville called “Darla Farmer“. They derived the name from a bank teller at a local bank. The first and second beers respectively were “Amarillo Pale Ale” and “Stout” from Yazoo brewing in Nashville TN.
Trying to tie into the Alaska theme, the second song played is “Procrastination Way” by a band called “The Polar Bear Project” from St. Louis MO.
Traci reads a letter from an Alaskian fisherman who listens to the GBS named Sean Rhodes. His great blog is here. Tom talks to Scott about his book called “Lives”. The next song is dedicated to Sean and it is Scott Merrick playing in the “The Last Frontier Band”. The song is called “The Alaska Song”. Scott’s book and “The Last Frontier Band” stuff can be had at Scott’s site.
The last beer is from Sri Lanka and it called “Lion Stout”. This beer bears Micheal Jackson’s likeness. Micheal’s writeup on this beer is here.
I need some votes this month at podcastalley!

That was a very fun and informative show. I enjoyed our guest Steve Merrick very much. I have some interesting tidbits about “Darla Farmer” I know a Darla farmer and he said it looks like it’s going to be a bumper crop this year. I’m looking forward to harvest because Darla is some mighty fine eatin’.
Just don't call me late for dinner

Scott, you silly boy, not Steve. I’ve been called worse, but it’s interesting that the name I’m most mis-labelled with is Steve. Maybe I was a Steve in a past life…hmmmmmmmmm…
I had a great time and it was fine to meet you. I’m home safe and sipping the last two ounces of the AWESOME Dreadnaught from Three Floyds. Thanks, Jeff, for that. Now just buy me that Lear Jet and I’ll be up every month or so!
BTW, I took a jog on the Indy Canal today and recorded a soundseeing “tour” of it (mostly me heavy-breathing) but it turned out pretty good, I think. I’ll post a link to that when I have it available. Got to edit 4 short soundfiles recorded on my Dell Axim.
Cheers!!! And thanks again!!!

Scott…great to see you again. Glad to hear you got back safely, especially after we go you fu*ked up on Tuesday night. Thanks for returning the favor. That White Lion put me over the top.
Please thank Linus and the crew at Yazoo.
Tom
ps: Jeff and Traci, Muncie band Mantis came in second at Battle of the Bands in Indy at the Vogue. Check out the All Access this week for the scoop with Michelle Kinsey. They might be good to get on the show soon!
